Julie's House - Augusta, GA

Our Vision The Board of Directors and volunteers of this organization plan to offer assistance and support to homeless women and their children. We will provide food, shelter, and clothing and support services so that they will have the options in their situation. If a victim of domestic violence decides to leave her partner, we will provide transportation and an escort to all court proceedings, assistance in applying for any and all government benefits, life skills assistance, support groups, job search assistance, and counseling. Our main objective will be that our clients will leave the shelter able to live independently and in safety. Our History The seed for Julie's House, Inc. came from the friendship of two individuals who work for human service organizations. They are confronted on a regular basis with situations in which women and their children find themselves homeless and without resources. A group of concerned individuals met and from this meeting grew the idea to form a nonprofit corporation to be named Julie's House. In April 2004 the corporation was formed and a Board of Directors was elected. Executive Director: Patricia B. Bourke Board of Directors: Michael J. Armstrong, President Annette S.
